The culmination of all practise

Heading into competition has always been after dedicated training and practise. The final National Division Polo comp sees me attending with much uncertainty. We have to win all our games to win the division, after giving away two easy games I'm a little upset that we are not in a commanding position at this stage. But I guess that is the nature of competition, it is easy to win with no pressure but when the pressure is on you have to perform at your best on all occasions. My main concern, however, is my shoulder holding out for four games. I have no time to do any more work and it is far from 100%, so the only plan to make is one that relies heavily on tactics. Also I am faced with the decision to bring Sion into the team. For me this is simple as I know him and how he plays yet the rest of the team do not. But his strength is in defence and midfield and that is where we can utilise his ability to best effect. Also the opposition do not really know how he plays as for the E team he has been playing out of position and as captain has adopted a more defensive style of play. What will be, will be, as they say and there are five days now to remain focused and keep rehearsing different moves.

Performance Kayaks

Congratulations to Rich & Diz on their marriage this Saturday just passed. As they head off to the coast to spend their honeymoon together PK will roll out as usual with Dom, Sparky and myself holding the front line. A quick commute by bike to Weston each day will soon see my fitness levels regained. Plus the incentive is a shiny new Dagger Nomad Creeking boat. :-)
