Randomly, when youy are sleeping, you will be awoken by a mercenary attempting to kill you. Not very hard.Take the dart from his body, and find a guard. Tell him about the assasination attempt, and he will tell you about the Dark Brotherhood. You must now talk to Apelles Matius in Ebonhart. Ebonhart is located on the southern part of Vvardenfell, a little south of Vivec. To get there, take a boat from Vivec. Now, find Apelles walking around oin the southern end. He tells you to talk to Asciene Rane in the Grand Council Chambers. Go over there, and talk to her, take transport to Mournhold. Speak with Effe-Tei in this room, and a guard to get information about your quest. From talking with these people, you learn that the Dark Brotherhood is located in the sewers of Mournhold.
