Morris Minor LCVs with Custom backs |
|
|
|
LCVs of all types have been fitted with other bodies or decks on their backs. Especially was this the case in New Zealand with the Minor pickups. There were two reasons for this, firstly import restrictions prohibited decks to be imported from England to give NZ people the work needed after the war years and secondly farmers found flat decks more practical to use on farms than the wellsides. More LCVs have been changed to custom decks after rust got the better of their original bodies. |

This truck (it suits 'truck' better that 'pick-up') is a real eye catcher. There has been alot of time and thought gone into making it look like one of the big fellas. Across the back of the cab it reads 'I wanna be Mack'. |

This pickup has a flatdeck with a cover and all. It also has the long bumper blade, overriders, 'eye lashes', and wheel trims, which are not original although all the bonnet markings are. In this photo it is also sporting Canterbury colours on its flag at the 11th NZ MM convention. |

This ute from Australia has been fitted with a step-side deck with a nifty but familar back bumper and light arangement. |

This unique vehicle looks a bit like a woodie cut down although it does infact have a full chassis and standard cab back. (I have seen a woodie cut down just above the length-ways beam and the back of the cab was fabricated to a simular design using wood.) |

The purple pickup. Stained wood makes a nice finish to the deck. |

A fairly typical flatdeck - ideal for on the farm or a tradesman. |

Tip deck - not very commonly found, but why not? |
