Most of my ranting seems to be stemming from the radio.  It seems only logical, being that I spend 4 hours of my day in that stupid car.  It might be that I just don’t have anything better to do and need to “get a life” as it were, but hey, who really cares?  As long as you get some entertainment and I…well I get to rage in an open forum about shit that no one in their right mind would even think twice about.

For example, last night some peacenik was on the radio clamoring about not wanting to go to war with Iraq*.  First off, I don’t really give a shit about the stupid war.  I know people currently in the military, and the fact that I don’t really wish to see any of them die (well, okay, maybe some) and I don’t own a black suit, makes me a tad trepidations about an upcoming war.  On the other hand, those that joined the armed services did so with their own foreknowledge and, it is their neck on the line, if they want to die for something, then let them.

But this ACLU card carrying member made some outrageous claims.  He first said that we have to follow the Constitution, being that stupid amendment that says our Treaties are the supreme law of the land, and since such a guideline exists, we must follow the UN charter.   Besides that being total and complete bull, let us suppose that I agree with this stupid regulation.  We let the UN do its thing.  Oh wait, we have let the UN do its thing.  13 Resolutions later and Iraq is still not listening.  How much is too much?  At what point do we say no more?

This idiot was asked that question by the radio jocks, “So if the UN resolves to use force, you’d be okay with that?”  He of course says no, he would not be in favor of force, even if the UN agrees that it should take place.  In other words, he was willing to wave the UN flag for just as long as IT agreed with his agenda.  If that’s really the outlook of peace lovers, then they deserve a world they ‘think’ should exist.

You see these people actually believe peace is possible.  Even though no one gets along.  Even though there are thousands of religions, some of which claim it is necessary to destroy the opposition.  There are criminals that would love peace and disarmament, falling back on the cliché, “In the land of the blind, the one eyed man is king!”

And that’s the trick anyway.  We all must realize that.  These people preaching their ideas, just like me, are really trying to get to the top of the food chain.  They’re trying to invoke their ideals on the masses.  To turn us, to change us.

What really pisses me about this guy was the fact that he was only willing to tow the line as long as it fit what he needed.  As soon as the system turned on his ideals he stopped believing in the system.  That’s a dangerous person.  If I didn’t know that he was a lawyer, I sure would have assumed it at this point.  Only someone as low on the feeding chain could be so willing to give up on others to push their ideals.

When I’m wrong, I’ll admit it.  I’ve got no problem being stupid, it’s not like I have a monopoly on brains, so I can’t help but to stomp around sometimes like a drooling idiot.  It’s the nature of being, and guys like this peacenik, have no clue what it means to be human.  They’ve given up on it in an attempt to ‘transcend’ it.  Fuck that.  Transcendence is like mountain climbing.  You are tiny creature, climbing the surface of this monstrous peak, if all you focus on is the distant peak, you’ll never see the path, get lost, and die.  But if you focus on the path, you’ll eventually reach the top.  This guy is lost in the wilderness.  Let him.  Hopefully he’ll get his way of peace only to be the first casualty of VX gas dropped on his BWM.

*Iraq, I’m really tired of the educated radio personalities having no idea how to pronounce Iraq.  It is not eye-rack, but is instead ear-rock.  If Bush has his way it will probably be Texas II in a few months, so I guess it really doesn’t matter.
