Random thoughts on: life, faith, love, sex, sexuality, society.

Life:
It took me a while to accept that life is unfair. Some are better than the others; more goodlooking, richer, smarter. Whatever you do to achieve perfection or anything close to it, you could never accomplish because along the way you will inevitably find someone who will make you feel like shit. But then, you'll just have to realize that being contented is being happy. Everyone has his own flaws, the same as everyone has his own unique characteristic. You have to love yourself for who you are because if you didn't, who will?

Faith:
I love my God more than anybody else. I think He's the ultimate friend one could have. Of course there were times that I blamed Him for all the pain and suffering we humans inexorably experience, but I believe that everything happens for a reason. There have been instances when I doubted His existence, whether he is real or we are gulliblie idiots deceived by the Church, but there have been countless proof (in my opinion) of His verity, reason why I believe there is someone up there watching over us.

Love:
Ah, love. Love is splendid, love is blind, love is an ashtray in the pits of hell. It could (as Alicia Keys have masterfully sung) give you so much pleasure and cause you so much pain. I have yet to find my own recipient of adoration, but it has been said that every single one of us has his own soulmate, the one person in this world you are destined to be with. I would like to believe that, but what about those old maids who grow up by themselves? Does it mean they do not have a soulmate? Scary thought, but maybe, just maybe, there is someone out there looking for you, and it's not the right time yet  for the both of you to meet.

Sex:
Hmmm. Sex. The ultimate form of intimacy. The next best thing since the internet (or the other way around?). Probably the most popular indoor pastime activity. But what is sex other than the fulfillment of our carnal desires? Casual sex feels good, but the emptiness of it overpowers the pleasure of the act. As a popular rapper have recently implied, there's a difference between having sex and making love. I have yet (again) to make love, and I await the moment. For the meantime I test the waters and hone my skills. *wink wink*

Sexuality:
I am open about my bisexuality. I like boys, I like girls and it's terribly confusing. But the thing is, bisexuals are the most intellectual people I have met so far. Yes, heteros are smart too, but these PLUs (People Like Us) amazingly have a lot in mind, probably from the fact that they contemplate about both sexes, aside from having the heart of both. Of course there are some rotten tomatoes, but they're a fact of life and must be tolerated. Still, I wish I could have been straight just so I won't have to deal with the perplexity of being bi.

Society:
I think we Filipinos are major hedonists. We don't care about what others think as long as we and the people around us are happy. (We aren't labeled "hospitable" for nothing!)  It's also nice to know that we are shedding our conservatism and turning out to be more liberated than ever. However, even though I am mainly influenced by the West, I'll never trade Filipino values for any other foreign culture.
