Shakespeare Biography

Shakespeare was born in Sunday April 26, 1564 in England, Stratford. Shakespeare had two sisters Joan and Margaret. Joan was born in September of 1558 and Margaret was born in 1562. Shakespeare’s parents were John and Mary Arden Shakespeare. John Shakespeare came to Stratford from Snitterfield in 1532. When he came to Stratford he was an apprentice Glover and a tanner of leathers. In 1552 John bought a house and in 1556 bought more property. Between 1556 and 1558 John Shakespeare married Mary Arden, who was very wealthy at the time. Shakespeare started his education at the age of six or seven at the Stratford. People say that Shakespeare worked for a butcher when he was younger, in addition to have worked for his father’s business. Shakespeare daily activity after school was impossible to trace. People have said that Shakespeare might have worked as a school master or lawyer or Glover with his father and his brother, Gilbert.Shakespeare was married to a young girl named Anne Whateley.

 

 

            Through 1578 to 1582 covers the time through Shakespeare left grammar school and got married. Through 1585 to 1592 young Shakespeare could have been recruited by the Leicester’s or Queens men. In 1592 the theatre were closed because the outbreak of the black plague. In 1593 it was Shakespeare’s turning point in his career, when he became an actor. At the end of 1593 all of Shakespeare worked paid off and he caught the eye of Earl of Southampton. Southampton liked Shakespeare’s work so he became Shakespeare’s patron and on April 18, 1593, Venus and Adonis was entered for publication. On that date Shakespeare made his debut as an official poet. In 1594 Shakespeare went back to work in the theatre and became leading member of the Lord Chamberlain’s men. When Shakespeare wrote many plays which include, Romeo and Juliet, Richard II, King John, and Love’s Labour’s Lost.

 

            For seventeen years he was one of the owners of the Globe theatre and for eight years he was one of the housekeepers of the company’s second theatre. Before Shakespeare purchased the Globe theatre with Chamberlain’s men, Shakespeare preformed many plays with Chamberlain’s men in many theatre like the Swan, the Curtain, and the Theatre. Throughout this time period many important events took place in Shakespeare’s life. The Shakespeare’s finally received the coat of arms in, 1596. August 11 of the same year Shakespeare’s son, Hamnet, died at the age of eleven. In 1597 Shakespeare purchased the second largest house in Stratford.

Shakespeare was born in 1564 and died in 1616 at the age of 52. When Shakespeare was alive the queen was Queen Elizabeth I.

Romeo and Juliet

Plot Summary

 

This story is basically about two Families, the Capulets and the Montagues, these two families are arch foes. In the play Romeo ( Montague) marries Juliet ( Capulet), but Juliet’s father wants Juliet to marry a wealthy man named Paris. When Juliet hears the news she starts to cry and asks Friar Lawrence to come up with a plan to get her reunited with Romeo again. So Friar Lawrence tells Juliet to take a poison to knock her out, to make her family think she’s dead, so they can berry her in the family tomb. Once Juliet is in her tomb Friar Lawrence sends a messenger to tell Romeo that he will her Juliet again in a little while. In the process Romeo’s friend spy’s on Juliet and thinks she’s dead. He tells the news to Romeo and he runs to her tomb. As soon as he sees here dead he poison and kill’s himself. When this happens Juliet wakes up and sees Romeo dead and stabs herself to death.
