Habukkuk's Song
The Lord who reigns over Heaven and Earth He is my strength He makes my feet as sure as a deer's And he will bring me safely over the mountains
Though I look out on this barren land Though nothing is growing at all I know that you make all things beautiful So I will rejoice in you I'll dance and sing and lift up my hands, 'cause
The Lord who reigns over Heaven and Earth He is my strength He makes my feet as sure as a deer's And he will bring me safely over the mountains
I've heard all about you, Lord I'm in awe of all the things that you do In this time of need, I know you are here So I will rejoice in you I'll dance and sing and lift up my hands, 'cause
The Lord who reigns over Heaven and Earth He is my strength He makes my feet as sure as a deer's And he will bring me safely over the mountains
Oh how you bless me, please help me to see it Even when trials come My heart is parched, like a dry thirsty desert I wait for your streams of life Fill me Lord, up to overflowing Fill me Lord, I'm waiting for you Dancing and singing with my hands lifted high
The Lord who reigns over Heaven and Earth He is my strength He makes my feet as sure as a deer's And he will bring me safely over the mountains |

This song was wriiten at a time where I was really struggling with myself and not being able to overcome different things in my life. I read my favorite verses, Habakkuk 3:17-19, which say, "Even though the fig trees have no blossoms, and there are no grapes on the vine; even though the olive crop fails, and the fields lie empty and barren; even though the flocks die in the fields, and the cattle barns are empty, yet I will rejoice in the LORD! I will be joyful in the God of my salvation. The sovreign LORD is my strength! He will make me as surfooted as a deer and bring me safely over the mountains." (NLT) This song was born out of them, and they really reminded me that even though I can't always see the ways that God is working, he is working, and he will get me there in his time. |

Clarity
The second before I wake When the fog of sleep has almost lifted Visions of dreams fading out Clarity happens then It's then that you speak to me When I can't rationalize away your voice
Oh Lord please speak, your servant is listening Oh Lord please come, your servant is waiting For you
Before I open my eyes Your face starts to come into focus And I can almost see you Then it's gone Like a brief shadow of a lost memory And all I'm left with is shimmering nothingness
Oh Lord please speak, your servant is listening Oh Lord please come, your servant is waiting For you
And I start to wonder Did you really speak, or was is just my imagination 'Cause it seems to have been a special time in a special place But I just can't remember
Oh Lord please speak, your servant is listening Oh Lord please come, your servant is waiting For you |

I wrote this song first as a poem. One day as I was waking up, and it seemed as though God was right there speaking to me. But just as soon as I opened my eyes, I could't remember anything about the experience. This song came out of that feeling and my desire to really hear from God. |
