its truly ridiculous. i have always felt that if you are going to make a crusade against something you truly believe is wrong, its a good idea to be just as well versed in the topic as your adversaries. if you are going to preach the evils of embryonic stem cell research, know what the term embryonic means. in reality, the majority of embryonic stem cell research has nothing to do with the classical definition of an embryo, or the christians view of baby slaughter houses. those cells were never going to develop into babies in the first place. in reality embryonic cells can be harvested from an adults arm, or one of many other areas not located on a fetus. in fact, those are the cells that the vast majority of stem cell research utilizes. but the ignorant masses have been told by their preachers the embryos are babies, and that the research is killing the children of god. thats pure bullshit. why are they listening to these people, just because they wear a fucking robe on sunday and read a few phrases out of the great book? does this make them an authority on all matters of importance? what type of education do these people have in the first place? they live in a monastery for a few years, memorize the bible, and all of a sudden they are highly respected intellectuals that govern the peoples thoughts and feeling? why should they be our moral authority? are they better than us? has no priest been and alcoholic, a sadist, a pederast? no, they are sinners just like you and me. and while these things might not make them bad people, it sure as fuck shouldnt make them a moral authority over anything. people need to look into these issues on their own and form their own opinions. that way if they still feel strongly against and issue they can at least back it up with and intelligent argument. if you detest stem cell research, you should have some rudimentary knowledge on the subject before you start preaching its evils. and if you discount evolution based on the bible, maybe you should stop and think about that too. did you ever think that god might have created all the animals through evolution? then you would be saying that the miracle of evolution, a complex and beautiful process put in motion by god himself, doesnt exist? why that would be heretical. evolution poses no threat to religion. it could in no way disprove the existence of god. so why do you fear it so much. it is because you are ignorant. you take the word of other poorly educated men, because they wear a robe and read from a fancy gold edged leather bound book.
thank you christians. you help to make the U.S. a more ignorant place. you judge scientific theories and fact on mystical whims. you follow blindly anything that the church says and turn your backs on human progress and development. for god, who represents the ultimate in intelligence, to look down and see his children embrace ignorance in his name must sigh and weep in disappointment. your ignorance is an embarrassment to yourself, your family, your nation, your world, and your god. you should be ashamed.
