Has anyone heard of "the letter game?" In case you haven't, Caroline Stevermer describes it in this way-
"I don't know who invented the Letter Game (which I have heard called Persona Letters, or even Ghost letters) . . . I believe it originated as an acting exercise, one character writing a letter "in persona" to another. The game has no rules, except that players must never reveal their idea of the plot to one another. It helps to imply in the first letter why the two characters must write to each other and not meet in person."
"Sorcery and Cecelia" is an example of that letter game. In this book, Patricia C. Wrede writes Cecelia, or "Cecy," and Caroline Stevermer writes as Kate. It's set in London in 1817. The storyline is amazing and unpredictable. I love how Kate and Cecy's stories intertwine and end up majorly affecting each other in the end. Not to mention fantasy, but this book is full of magic. This is one of those read-until-you're-finished-no-matter-how-long-it-takes-because-if-you-don't-finish-soon-you'll-die-of-suspense types of books. The dramatic climax has you on the edge of the seat, and you heave a great sigh of relief when everything turns out all right.
Reading this book was a magical experience. I also recommend any other books by Patricia C. Wrede and Caroline Stevermer; they're amazing too!

P.S. Did I mention that this book has a sequel? "The Grand Tour: Or The Purloined Coronation Regalia" is the follow-up to "Sorcery and Cecelia," and is just as wonderful!
