In a stroke, blood flow is blocked by a clot. Cells release huge amounts of glutamate, a
neurotransmitter or message-carrying chemical. This overstimulates nerve cells and kills them.
Chemicals known as antioxidants can block this effect, but so can cannabinoids, Hampson's team
wrote.

They said cannabidiol seemed an especially promising candidate.
Ibogaine
Ibogaine so important is that it makes heroin "not forever". African view is that iboga allows one to
travel through time and space and not as many of us may consider to allow a review of
memories.
Sense of oneness with ibogaine was so complete as to have it appear as if I were part of the
universe in perfect working order rather than being so distinct as to "see" myself in oneness with
the universe. Oneness did not seem spiritual to me but, scientific. Word "integration" fits; calming
presence.
With LSD-like drugs that effect is most pronounced during the acute period of the drug's action (8 -
12 hours) while with ibogaine (occurs) 48- 72 hours have passed. "Upswing" of ibogaine very
similar to the same period of an LSD trip, but that is where the similarities end.
During LSD always feeling I recognized everyone in crowds of strangers. Ibogaine "trips" are very
personal and feel disconnected from others during the actual trip. The feelings of love,
understanding of self & circumstances and oneness (with my partner) come afterwards.
Second ibogaine experience was a reawakening of sexual desire right after the experience. Not
only pleasurable, but very emotional & spiritual as well. The spiritual part is something I have
rarely experienced.
Not everyone experiences visualization. Additionally, in those who do the effect may actually
diminish after a number of ibogaine experiences and not increase. And, yes, your fears,
aspirations and hopes may have a lot to do with the way the drug works. In my own case all
visualization ceased after my fifth full dose.
