Phillip K Dick Mae West's career spanned more than eight decades. She wrote several hit Broadway plays, becoming one of the most famous stars of the legitimate stage. She single-handedly saved Paramount Studios from certain bankruptcy in the 1930s by writing and starring in tremendously sucessful films. Beyond her talent as an actress and playwright, Miss West also wrote several best selling novels (none of which needed nude photos to boost sales).

With the fourth edition THE CONSTANT SINNER replaces BABE GORDON as the title of Miss West's novel. The title was selected as the best of 4,673 suggestions received in a contest sponsored by the publishers.
The book was re-issued in 1949 by Sheridan House, Inc.
The paperback I have of "Diamond Lil"-the novel is Re-PRINTED by Dell Books (.25 cent price) The copyright says 1932 by The Macaulay Company and 1949 by Sheridan House,Inc. Reprinted with permission from Sheridan House, Inc.
Both books show Mae West as the author but not the copyrighter, interesting !
