The following are brief profiles of some of our current player-characters. If your character is not listed here, you may submit a short (one paragraph, please) bio to Kira-player ([email protected]) for inclusion on this page.

A'taryn
Wing Second, rides brown Cameth from First Clutch He is about 5ft. 10in, 165 lbs, he is almost feminine in appearance yet strong. A'taryn has darkish curls and looks a bit like a girl from a distance. Originally from the Minecraft Hall, where he was studying fine jewelry-making. Quiet, though not shy, Ataryn has few friends and prefers it that way. Although Cameth wins his share of mating flights and A'taryn's bed is only empty if he chooses to sleep alone, he has decided to give up on ever having a weyrmate. It just seems the women of the Weyr want the bronzeriders.

Al'ria
Tall (5'10) and willowy thin, the young rider of the blue dragon Piqueth, she has light brown hair that is short, but tortured with insane curls. Over the turns since she Impressed at 14, she has lost the youthful gawkiness and has become somewhat graceful. She bears a strong likeness to K'sien the searchrider who found her. She is from a caravan upbringing and highly skilled with knives but she has found peace being in the weyr and having a stable home. She works hard to show her appreciation for being in the weyr and with Piqueth.

Alea
Weyrwoman and rider to the Gold Resanth, slave to the green flit Circe. Alea Impressed Resanth (from the First Clutch) when she was only 16 Turns and is now Weyrwoman of Morlevan Weyr. She and brownrider J'rek have been weyrmates since Resanth's first mating flight. She is about 5'2", slender, with gold-brown hair and warm brown eyes. Sometimes shy, Alea can take charge when the need arises, she is generally calm and level-headed. She's generous and thoughtful. Alea's mother died when she was young and her father withdrew into alcohol and his work with the trader caravan. Alea was recruited for Harper Hall at the age of 8 and has rarely seen her father since that time. After a full five Turns as Weyrwoman, Alea is still unsure if her father even knows of her status. Alea is still able to play the gitar and sing better than many harpers. At the age of 20, Alea and J'rek became parents to a daughter, Raine, who died in the recent plague.

Lady Alessa
Lady Holder of Nebella Hold and friend to flitters: green Bella and brown Fallon. Lady Alessa is a willowy woman with flaxen hair and clear blue eyes, Alessa is a true beauty. She is particularly proud of her long delicate hands and fingers. She is a strong woman, Alessa has learned since the death of her husband and infant son that she is far stronger than she once thought. For many Turns she ran Nebella Hold without a husband and craved the companionship of a mate and the joy of children, but believed it was no longer be possible. Then her firelizard Bella rose to mate and was caught by her harper Davyn's brown Lor. After Alessa realized she was pregnant and that she and Davyn loved each other deeply, they were handfasted and are now proud parents to a son, Allyn.

Amaris
Amaris is a journeyman harper, born and raised at Southern Harper Hall. She's a typical harper type, lively and outgoing, exuding confidence, and interested in others and whatever they're up to. She's relaxed and easy to talk to, her manner giving the impression that the talker has her full attention, and nothing else that may be happening is more pressing. She has tousled wavy light brown hair and hazel eyes, is of slender build and not very tall. Her features are unexceptional. She was posted at South Wind Sea Hold after several turns as a journeyman in order to set up the drumheights there for Lord Sarack. Returning to the Harper Hall after a turn and a half of what she regarded as social deprivation, she is now back at South Wind at Master Chase's request, and is hopeful of a more convivial environment under Warder Keliras.

Ayrabel
Ayrabel is the sixteen turn old daughter of the Holder of Ayrian's Rest. Green Inith came into her life not long ago and she is now a Weyrling in the Wind Rider Clutch. Her green flit Emmy also arrived on her head a short while after. Vain and boticelli-figured, Ayrabel is 5'5 with ebony hair and blue eyes on a pale complexion and is assertive and educated, she possesses a sharp wit and resourceful disposition. However, her talents are often relegated to plotting to win the attention of Bronze riders and designing outfits to flaunt her figure. Ayrabel is mindful of etiquette and propriety, but like all teenagers she will flout authority. Unlucky or not, she looks fantastic in forest green and holds no inhibitions to don its colour when the mood strikes.

Cyvarel
With her deep green eyes, cropped black hair and decidedly gawky motion, many find it hard to believe that Cyvarel is Sedaren's younger sister. Intelligent, sarcastic and hopelessly frank- she is as brutal with herself as she is with others. Impressed to Green Farsynth of the Zephyr's Delight Clutch, she's learned that stereotypes don't mean a thing. Her hair is something you might happen to find her complaining about- it was her only vanity before she was forced to shear it off. You'll most probably find her with her brother or best friend Kira, the Weyr's most junior of Weyrwomen.

D'haan
Rider of bronze Varanth. Firelizard: blue Pip. Rank: Wing Second. This former Miner Apprentice Impressed Varanth in Vidrianth and Morgaith's First Clutch. Description: Tall (over 6 feet) and powerfully built, D'haan breezed through the physical part of Weyrling Training. D'haan was thrilled when Varanth flew Arissa's gold in Caranth's first mating flight, thinking that now Alea might notice him. Personality: D'haan has a soft side although her rarely shows it. He tends to annoy people with his brash manner and utter lack of tact. He's not afraid of hard work and doesn't care what other people think.

D'llin
D'llin impressed Brown Sillenth from Caranth's Lyric Wind Clutch shortly before he reached 14 turns. Fast approaching his father's height, D'llin has passed 5'10 and keeps growing. He has almost black hair that curls a bit when it's long enough. Deep brown eyes and a quick smile, D'llin loves people. Until he was searched, his whole life was his family (Jozi) and now at the Weyr has found how much he enjoys being part of such a group. In the recent flitter hatching D'llin Impressed a double dose of trouble in the form of a bronze he called Flame, and a green he named Spook. D'llin, now a weyrlingmaster second, is presently in mourning for his weyrmate, goldrider Arissa, as she and the baby she carried both died recently.

Davyn
Davyn is Nebella's resident Journeyman Harper. Born the forth child of a Mine Crafter, Davyn found he had his mother's talent for music and was sent to the Southern Harper Hall. He walked the tables after four years, travelled for a few, and then was assigned to Nebella.
Six feet tall and sturdily built, Davyn looks more like a Miner or Herder than a Harper. He has shaggy, shoulder-length hair of a medium brown with a long fringe that always falls in his eyes, which are hazel. His broad face is lightly tanned and displays rakish good looks. He's not very outgoing and usually polite and reserved amongst people he doesn't know well. He is however loyal to his friends and when amongst them displays a friendly smile and a wry sense of humour. Now happily handfasted to Lady Alessa of Nebella (thanks to Lor) he is also the father to young Allyn.

Eintharla
A love for life and cooking fills Eintharla�s heart and this fourteen turn old possesses a natural rhythm and grace that is evident in her dancing. Her chocolate coloured complexion is marked by the normal blemishes of a teenager. Her short, tightly curled black hair is braided tightly against her head. A style that accentuates her strong features. Mithlana is the headwoman of Kilborn Cothold and is also Eintharla�s grandmother. Mithlana is responsible for nurturing her talents in cooking and in the duties of a headwoman. Eintharla�s parents are harpers but her talents rest in the culinary art as her voice is better suited to reciting the ballads not singing them.

J'rek
Rider of brown Tyineth, property of Fidget and Trinket, and Morlevan's sedate former Weyrleader. Since his arrival at the Weyr he has been known as quite possibly one of the quietest member of the Weyr-- but certainly caused his fair share of gossip. Firstly, he had run away from his home-hold of Aldair, opting for the freedom only the open wilds of Southern and a trusty runner named Stormfoot could offer. He had had his fair share of adventures, few of which were told freely. Even after Impressing, his brief time as Macha's weyrmate had created a stir. Of course, after his brown had caught Resanth (and a bit of good-natured stalking of the gold's rider) he settled with Alea and they are the parents of the headstrong Raine.
J'rek is rather short, especially in comparison with other Weyr members. His black hair is kept longer than most, and quicksilver eyes play a dominant feature, slightly uncommon on Pern, olive-bronze skin tone that seems just as uncommon in Morlevan--and he takes pride in his looks. He is unruffled and undaunted, skeptical and a realist. However vain he is, it is a carefully guarded secret.

Jh'mar
Tall, with dark blond hair that's getting even darker with age, Jh'mar tans well in the Southern sun, his blue eyes bright in his somewhat weathered face. As the Weyrlingmaster, and rider of brown Sirreth, he takes his role seriously and his brand of attempted humour doesn't always go down well with the weyrlings. He's quiet in general, preferring to spend most of his off duty time with his weyrmate Lyra, and their daughter Leila, but given the right occasion (and company) he can let his hair down with the best of them, however in recent turns he's become more and more stressed and it shows. His flit Twerp and Lyra's Lyric and Whisper are the bane of his life, often interrupting an opportune moment as far as Jh'mar is concerned. He is also the very proud father of Jhalyr.

Jozi
Jozi impressed green Shereth in Caranth's Lyric Wind Clutch. Not tall and not short, Jozi's slim body holds hidden strength. Deep brown eyes and medium brown curly hair make Jozi pretty but not in an outstandish way. She and her family (including D'llin) lived alone, away from people for thirteen years of her life. She and her brother were searched as they were traveling back to civilization after their mother's untimely death in child birth. If the search riders had not found her that day, she would have found a place at the Southern Harper Hall, her mother (a harper's daughter) having passed down all she knew of harpering. Living at the Weyr has not made her any more outgoing, but she has settled neatly into daily life. From shortly after her impression, Jozi has spent much free time with Shay and confidently cheered as he became Bronze rider Sh'don. Any space in her heart that Shereth shares belongs to him.

Jyovanne
Jyovanne is currently a Candidate at the Weyr. Her background is somewhat unusual. She officially tells people that she was a Weaver, but actually she was more of a "flit tracker" along with her father and two brothers. Living off the land, Jo has been hardened over the years and yet seriously lacks social interaction. Jyovanne is, however, a fast learner and she can't help but try and fit in at Morlevan. She has very sharp features, dark hair and eyes. The only companion that has pushed through her boundaries is her little brown flit, Henne.

K'raina
Tall, somewhat lanky, K'raina has lost much of her clumsy ways, though not enough to be often trusted with heavy or delicate work. Often less than patient with people, she has no end of tolerance for animals. Sandy blond hair is always braided, with a few strands freefloating, and brown eyes spark with curiosity. If there's anything to know, she wants to know it. Her dragon and two firelizards make an unlikely set: blue Vereth is almost painfully shy, while brown Brok is bold to the point of being obnoxious. Green Rissa fills out the group by being overprotective and prone to hysterics.

Katanya
(14 when she Impressed) She is short and tiny, a bit on the plump side. She can be a bit shy. Her hair is honey blonde and she has green eyes-- her best feature. She is the only girl in a large family of boys from Red Rock Hold. She's used to the rough and tumble ways of her brothers and also to working hard. She has some musical talent and wanted to go to Harper Hall but her father wouldn't hear of it. Kat is very good at cooking and has an affinity for animals -- especially her Hold watchwher. At the hatching of Caranth's clutch, she Impressed green Jalinth and has never been happier. After a bit of chasing, she has made herself a semi-permanent fixture in R'dyn's bed and they have a son, young Baylor, to show for it.

K'lysta
Wingrider in V'lderian's wing, bonded with Blue Kalianth, Sky Seekers Clutch. She's short, barely five feet tall and quite petite, looks younger than her 21 turns. She has short wavy/curly chestnut hair, hazel eyes, small snub nose and far too many freckles. K'lysta permanently seems to wear a rather worried expression but when she does smile her face lights up. She's naturally friendly, but can be quite sharp to defend herself if challenged and has been known to speak first and think later.

Kelia
Seventeen-Turn-old Kelia, Jessany's fosterling, has a well- earned reputation as the "Terror of the Weyr," which is slowly changing as time goes by and she gets in less and less trouble. Lately the only trouble this energetic teen gets into is because she is enamored with Lord Lucaren's son Lanivar. Kelia knows the Weyr's Lower Caverns like the back of her hand, and is usually accompanied by her sandy colored male feline, who for lack of a better name is called Sandy. Kelia is more graceful than in past Turns, but still skinny, and still wearing her hair in a pair of long, brown braids.

Keliras
5'7", of wiry build, the black-haired, grey-eyed Master Tanner of Morlevan Hold is soft-spoken and even tempered. He is very meticulous about his work, critical without overcriticizing, and as quick to find the merits as much as the flaws. Outside of his work, the joys of his life are his blue firelizard Mathas, the ladies (who never seem to be in short supply seeking his company), and the son of the Morlevan Weyr seamstress, Jeran. Even when Talena had yet to name Kel as her son's father, nothing stopped the Master Tanner from treating the boy as if he were his own. Now that Jeran has been named as heir to South Wind Sea Hold by the Holder's Conclave, Keliras is serving as his son's Warder. It's a daunting task but the former Tanner is performing admirably.

Kira
Kira has Polynesian-type colouring and features. She's average height and of chubby build, with a very expressive face that sometimes betrays her thoughts. She is quite changeable in demeanour, though usually sociable and outgoing, she can become abrasive and irritable when provoked, and doesn't suffer fools gladly. Though very organised and practical, she is easily distracted and has a tendency to become engrossed in her thoughts, mainly those of K'dan, who caught her attention soon after she arrived at the Weyr. Though besotted with him, her feelings are variable, as he has the ability to infuriate her like no one else she's ever met. She worked in the Weyr creche before Impressing gold Somnolenth in the Zephyr's Delight clutch.

Lanivar
An intelligent, inquisitive nineteen-Turn-old, Lanivar is the sole surviving son and heir of Lord Lucaren, (his half-brother L'saaric, as a dragonrider, being ineligible), and bears the brunt of his father's overprotective attentions. Small and fair complexioned, he bears the distinct stamp of Lucaren's blood. With fair, white-blonde hair and his mother's blue eyes, Lanivar strongly resembles his father.... In all but temperament. Wishing for nothing so much as the chance to follow in his siblings' footsteps and Impress a dragon, he is chafing under his sire's uncompromising expectations concerning his future.

Lucaren
The formidable Lord Holder of Morlevan Hold for nearly seven decades, Lord Lucaren is an intimidating (and notorious), figure amongst the Morlevan weyrfolk. Coldly brilliant, and ruthless where his interests are concerned, Lucaren rules his Hold with an iron fist. Father of over a dozen legitimate offspring, (and countless unclaimed halfbloods), Lucaren has spread his legacy far and wide -- a legacy even the plague has not been able to wholly quench. A frightening intensity seems focused in Lucaren's small, delicate frame. His silvering hair is sleeked back from his temples, starkly revealing a refined, intelligent face and dark, piercing eyes. When two of his children came to "rescue" him from his dying Hold, he took it for granted they would do so in -his- way - and promptly summoned his last surviving son and the Hold's Healer to accompany them.

Lyra
Standing at just over five feet, four inches Lyra is nothing impressive. Her once long hair falls in short tight curls about her face. Green-grey eyes are set closely together on her pale face. Before she Impressed Green Aleith she was a Harper, and still loves to listen and dance to music. Feasts and Gatherings are her favorite form of entertainment. Next to them is her blue flit Lyric. The majority of her other free time is generally spent with Jh'mar and his Brown Sirreth. For the most part Lyra is calm and bright-eyed, though she has definitely had her slumps and times of mischief (Drew, T'kayzi).

Madigan
Maddy as he�s affectionately known is just one of the boys. He�s a 17 turn old, apprentice beast handler by trade but by nature he�s a sportsman through and through. Son of Barldo, also a beast handler, he works hard with his mate Farus at Ternhart Hold. He�s fiercely loyal and tends not to express his emotions easily. However he knows how to have a good time. He likes a fine wine and fine women. Although a few more of the latter and any woman will suffice. Blonde, tall and just growing into his manly form, Madigan has grey eyes and a ready smile.

Maigalynn
Rider of Valoreth. A fiesty and stubborn greenrider, Maig spent several days pestering the former weyrleaders for permission to keep her auburn hair in an unshorn state. Maigalynn is 5'6 and has light brown eyes. Her hair reaches her waist and she is an energetic young woman, previously weyrmated to V'lderian, but now a free spirit.

Malia
Apprentice weaver. She has blonde hair, green eyes, and is short and plump. She Impressed the blue firelizard Dante during her assignment at Morlevan Hold, much to the dissatisfaction of Lord Lucaren. Once the Weyr gossip, she is now more often the subject of gossip since she and her weyrmate brownrider S'shir fight as often as they make up.

R'dyn (typically known as Raid to just about everyone)
The former Weyrleader is Morlevan's free spirit, not even bronze Kaelth can bring the man's nightly wanderings to an end. Some said he was on a desperate search for the weyrmate that really wasn't there. Others just said he was a shameless skirt-chaser. Raid? He just said he might be a little bit of both. He is certainly hopeless. Spaz, his brown firelizard, is the perfect companion for that side. He is tall, with short-cropped tawny colored hair and hazel eyes. He is melodramatic, and suffers from a strange compulsion to chronically joke around and be silly (it often left the bronzerider in odd situations.) But, luckily, he's hard to embarrass.

Raven
A weyr resident for the time being, she stays with her foster sister, Al'ria. She has long midnight black hair and equally dark eyes. She is slender and average height about 5'4. Raven has a significant memory loss due to a severe illness and has in recent turns realized she and Talena are half-sisters. It warms her heart to know she has family in her lookalike sister Talena, the seamstress, and her son Jeran.

R'mar
Firelizard: blue Ranger Rank: Bronzerider and ex-Weyrbrat. A dark-haired boy with intense blue eyes, Romar could easily be one of Lord Lucaren's byblows. He was a sunny child, making friends easily, forgiving slights, and always in search of fun. His best friend was Reitze, Jrek's little sister, but things haven't been the same since Reitze lost their baby. Ever since anyone can remember, he has been fascinated by dragons and dragonkind. The flitter he Impressed was meant as a gift of thanks for his foster-father from the Weyr, but the little blue Impressed the boy instead.

Sh'don
A lanky and unusually tall seventeen turn old, Sh'don was born at South Wind Hold to Journeywoman Harper Liri, and trained at the Southern Harper Hall. He was Searched in his third year as an Apprentice at the age of fourteen, but failed to Impress from Caranth's Lyric Wind Clutch. Choosing to stand again for Resanth's next Clutch, he Impressed Thirenth. The handsome 'good luck' bronze was the first to hatch, and so Sh'don joined the Zephyr's Delight Weyrlings.
A long streak of nothing, Shay's yet to fill out and may never really do so. After he Impressed he found out that he's Nevan's bastard son. He has his mother's black hair and thin features, and his father's pale skin and large blue eyes. Where his height comes from is anybody's guess. The combination is striking, though you wouldn't call him handsome. He has his father's velvety baritone and a Harper's way with words. Friendly and outgoing, he likes practically everyone, although his weyrmate, greenrider Jozi, has a special place in his affections. He is also owned by a mischievious tabby grey feline called Tewirrin, who he brought with him from the Harper Hall, and recently impressed a mercurial green firelizard he called Peat, short for Something Unrepeatable. He and Jozi are the proud parents of a son.

S'rael
S'rael is of medium height, slim, grey eyes, medium brown hair, worn just a *little* longer than a dragonrider should. He is effeminate, precious, highly strung and extremely vain. Prone to pouting if he can't get his own way. He likes to be 'one of the girls'. His dragon, Zireth is, in his opinion, the most exquisite dainty green that ever hatched from an egg. Most bronze and brown riders are irritated beyond belief by him, but he's quite popular as friend and confidante with the female riders. Basically good hearted, he is extremely loyal to his friends and would do anything to help anyone.

S'shir
A trader-brat who Impressed brown Imigeth in the Harmony Circle clutch, S'shir is a born prankster and opportunist, with a tendency to lead identical twin brother C'sin astray, though the favour is frequently returned. He's imaginative and industrious despite his penchant for tomfoolery, and his dark good looks are a magnet to many girls, however he had his heart set on Malia and ultimately won her heart as well.

T'lekin
In sharp contrast to his twin T'kayzi, is quite tall. His blond hair is cropped short and a much darker shade of blond. He shares the same dark gray eyes as his twin. He's a little shy and a little quiet. He's approximately at the level of apprentice in woodcrafting. His confidence has been greatly increaded since he Impressed blue Temath.

T'ron
T'ron started out life with 9 brothers and sisters. At 15, he is the 'runt' of the litter who decided he'd had enough of being nothing and struck out to become somebody. What he didn't expect, was to become one so soon, to Blue Tolenth! He may look 12, but has the heart of one much older.

Takayzi
Better known as Kayzi, is a fairly short young woman. Her pale blond hair is not quite as long as it used to be, falling to a few inches below her shoulders. She has dark stone gray eyes. She's a little clumsy, but her friendliness makes up for it. She has no craft, but is a fairly good singer. She rides green Mikath and is bonded to green Zara.

Talena
Son: Jeran (named father = Master Tanner Keliras, although Talena really isn't sure) Her companion is the firelizard green Kendal. She achieved the rank of Journeywoman Weaver, Talena is an excellent amateur seamstress and embroiderer. With dark curling hair and dancing dark eyes,Talena has full, voluptuous curves. She is a tease and a big flirt, Talena loves men. Although she could marry at least two, she prefers to be free to make her own choices and loves the freedom that living at the Weyr gives her. Her father was the Lord Holder and Talena was raised as a pampered favorite child. When her entire family was wiped out by disease, she was sent to live with her only living relative, ancient Uncle Joab at his rustic cothold. She chose to travel to Morlevan Hold to be trained by the Master Weaver there, thinking that at least there would be more eligible men than at her Uncle's.

Tariana
The oldest daughter of Jerian and Selene, runnerbeast herder/breeders. Tari is pretty but not exceptional, has boring short brown hair, green eyes, and freckles. She's fairly tall, rather intelligent, stronger than most girls her age and more mature, too. She's also very quick-witted, though shy. Tari grew up following her family's herd of runerbeasts, and helping out with all the chores. It was a more or less average childhood, she has 2 older brothers and one younger sister.

Torniell
Cotholder Burdun cothold, expert runnerbeast breeder/trainer Description: Tall and dark, Torniell has slightly graying temples and other than that, seems ageless. He is well built as befits a man of his occupation. He is self-assured and self-sufficient, Torniell has a loving heart and an open personality. Torniell's wife died some years ago and he took refuge in the bottle. He might have followed her to the grave but for a lost, hungry little boy who needed fostering. Romar saved Tor and in return Tor gave the boy a home, food, and love.

V'lderian
Tall, fit and handsome with a habit of overexaggerating gestures, the bronzerider to Ruavoth has somewhat light features (think Val Kilmer). He works unbelievably hard when on duty as wingleader, but has a tendency to take the easiest route when not working.

V'ren
Short and slight, it was already obvious at the age of fifteen Turns that V'ren was always going to be lightly built. That build, coupled with his thin ascetic features and the sour expression that usually graces those features make his bastard parentage obvious. One of Lucaren's many brats, he's always resented the advantages Lucaren's acknowledged offspring had. He has his mother's green eyes, his grandfather's iron grey hair, and his father's personality. Even Impressing green Vath could only mellow him somewhat, and he's still a terror to anyone he takes a disliking to.

Ymbria
Craft: Harper Pets: Brown Finnikin and Green Tri Ymbria has frothy black hair which hangs to her waist, usually restrained in a tight braid. She grew up in the Harper hall, and has acheived the status of journeywoman. Currently, she is out on her travelling circuit. She has always had a love of teaching, which her Masterharper father considers beneath her, and this has caused many a rift between herself and her family.

Z'ran
Weyrling in Lyric Wind clutch to brown Ianth. Z'ran stood for three times before he finally Impressed. He is nondescript at medium height and weight, Z'ran has mousy brown hair and brown eyes with flecks of gold and green. He is far stronger than he looks from years of working in the vineyards of Morlevan Hold. Z'ran seems shy until you get to know him. He slow to get close to people, but is a loyal friend when he finally lets people in. He watches and learns and says little. Slow to anger, fast to smile, he and Ianth are the perfect pair.
