Raven Rosewood was a foundling. He was left at the city orphanage without a clue as to who his parents where. At the early age of 5 the wealthy Rosewood family adopted him. Mrs Rosewood was unable to have children and therefor mister and Mrs. Rosewood decided to adopt a child. Raven was very young and would most likely not remember the fact that he was adopted at all. This is true to a certain extent. Raven has faint memories about the orphanage but doesnt remember exactly what the place was and who the people where in his memories. Raven is still only 18 and others might remember his name. It is not like everybody names his or her child Raven. Raven is fed up with the high etiquette society he is born to (or so he is led to believe). The sit straight and be nice, be polite and always remember your manners life-style doesnt go well with Raven. From the moment he got his own car he has been finding excuses to be away from home, even away from family dinners, much to the discontent of his parents. His parents however do not dare to disapprove openly too much in fear that their son might just leave. For the same reason they havent told him he has been adopted.

Ravens current life-style is either going out to parties or locking himself in his room doing homework, which has considerably increased his grades. It is not that Raven doesnt like the wealth or the manor or the servants, it is the whole etiquette routine that he dislikes. Raven is an individualist and the etiquette routine simply is not him. Raven would probably be an outcast in college/high school if it where not for the fact that he is one of the rich kids. He spends a lot of time in the gym but he is not part of the sports jocks, he spends some time in the library and study rooms (another good opportunity for not being home) but he doesnt go well with nerds. He avoids most parties that are visited by most adolescents his age.

Though this means he usually hangs out in the underground scene he doesnt go well with the Goths or Alternatives either for the simple reason he doesnt want to belong to a scene. This does not mean he doesnt go well with people or is asocial. Raven has respect for others and expects to be respected. If someone does not respect him he either demands respect if he can get away with it or pisses off when he cant. He is not a loner either, he likes being with people and chatting with them. He can be a good team player but he is no leader figure. Though he has is dark brooding moments mostly he likes hanging out with people. Yet it is still hard to get close to Raven. Friends can get close until a certain point. This point is when one reaches his private thoughts and feelings. Perhaps Raven doesnt want to get close to anyone because he subconsciously knows he was a foundling and he doesnt want to deal with the loss of friends and family. If he never cares, truly cares, about anyone he will not suffer that sense of loss.
