She's 14 years old and loves to read and write. Over her summer break, she challenges herself to reading 20 books. She notices that all the books she has checked out have also been checked out by Amasawa. She tries to figure out who this person is. Little does she know, it's the boy she keep getting in little arguments with. Later on, she falls in love with him.

He's the book who keeps checking out all the books before Shizuki. He wants to be a famous violin maker, and wants to take this apprenticship in Italy.
Tsukishima Yasuya---Tachibana Takashi
Age 45, and he's Shizuku's father. He is a librarian at the public library where Shizuku likes to hang out.
Tsukishima Asako---Muroi Shigeru
Age 43 and Shizuku's mother. She recently went back to school, so she is barely home.
Tsukishima Shiho---Yamashita Yorie
Age 19. Shizuku's older shister who acts more like her mother.
Nishi Shirou---Kobayashi Keiju
Age 80. Seiji's grandfather who owns the figureien Baron. He runs and old antique furniture and repair shop.

The cat figureien, that becomes the main character in Shizuku's story.
Harada Yuko---Kayama Maiko
Age 14. Shisuku's friend. She likes Sugimura, a boy who is in her class, but she is too shy to confess her love to him.
Sugimura---Nakajima Yoshimi
Age 14. He likes Shizuku, and is oblivious to the fact that Harada likes him. He plays sports and is part of the baseball club.
