| Hi everyone! Looks like I am back from a long break and once again updating the neglected website. I really do have a good excuse though. The server has been giving me problems and would not let me do anything. Its not that I haven't been here and tried....honest! Well everyone survived the school year. Morgan will be a fourth grader this coming year. Third grade was a great year for her. She moved up to Girls Scouts from her Brownie Troop, she won the Rockbridge Geographical Fair, and she got invited to join the Gifted Program for Academics at her school. So she really had quite a few acheivements this year to be proud of. Madison graduated from Headstart and begins Kindergarten in the fall. He's really looking forward to that and is desperate to learn how to read. As a matter of fact he thinks it's downright disgusting that he can't. He keeps begging me to take him to Sylvan so they can teach him. We've taught him to read a few basic things and he can write some small sentences. (Mostly about trains...haha!) I think if he could go back to school tomorrow he'd be right there. Aspen will stay in headstart again for another year, as she's only three. She did learn alot this past year. She can somewhat write her name, she can count to ten, and her vocabulary is through the roof. She really enjoyed this past year, and she says she had quite a few "boyfriends"! There's so much to tell you from the past year that I didn't get to do newsletters that I'll never be able to fit it all in, so I won't try. Just take my word that it was a phenomenal year. Madison got to meet his Hero Jeff Gordon, and quite a few other Nascar drivers. I'm going to be working on uploading pictures of that to a webpage for him, and when that is ready you will be able to click HERE and go see them. I think this was probably the highlight of his whole year. His health is doing ok right now, with just a few things giving him some trouble. He's been having dental work done and that's quite an ordeal due to the blood disease that he has. It ends up being an all day affair with him beginning IV's early that morning, and then getting fixed in the late afternoon. At this rate, I would say that the dentist is NOT his best friend. Aspen has started doing beauty pageants and will also be getting a webpage devoted to her involvement in that which should be up and running soon. She just started going this the first part of this year and is doing fairly well. (Especially given that I have no clue what I am doing. Anyone with any advice feel free to email me with their ideas.) You never realize how hard it is to really "fix" a three year olds hair until you get down to doing it. I was used to pigtails and hairbows, and now here I am having to be creative. Sigh... She competed in the Sunburst Tri State pageant in Richmond, back in May. It was a regional pageant for the state of Virginia, West Virginia, and Maryland. 25 girls competed in her division, and only the top five would qualify to attend the National competition in Atlanta GA in August. However Aspen did Qualify and we will be headed to Nationals this August. We're making it serve double duty though as that will be the kids vacation for the summer. Each day we will have some sort of pageant competion but there will be plenty of time to visit the Atlanta Zoo and Six Flags over Georgia. The kids have already begun counting down the days. You can click HERE to visit her pageant pages. For those who don't know, my sister had her baby this month. His name is Kyle and he was born 8 1/2 pounds, and 20 1/2 inches long. She went into the hospital on a Monday around 5:30 pm and he was born at 6:59pm the following day. After all that she says she is not having any more anytime soon! As soon as I am able to upload it his picture will be on the front page of our website for all of you to see. Well I think that is all I will put in this months newletter as I have no clue whether or not this is even going to let me do this. It seems this server is tempramental about letting me mess with my website anymore. Stay tuned for more updates if all goes well! Debbie and "The Tribe" Click here to return to our homepage. |
