Otodus subserratus (Agassiz, Agassiz 1843)

Otodus subserratus is regarded as one of the better finds. The teeth resemble Carcharocles auriculatus, but with much weaker serrations (often only part of the cutting edge is serrated). There has been some interesting discussion on this subject at elasmo.com (slideshow). I would't be suprised if the small Otodus obliquus teeth that can be found in the "Egemkapel Clay Member" are juveniles of this species.
