| Call Me Cupid - Chapter 4 - by ziggy Brenda was in a snit. Hadnt someone told her that after the murder charges were dropped that life would get back to normal? Of course, they werent specific in saying whether that was good normal or bad normal. Figures she would get the latter. She ripped the shower curtain down and wrapped it around her body. Ha, fat lot of good that would do since it was clear! Shaking her head in disgust, she put her ear to the door to make sure that Jason had really gone. After hearing nothing but silence for several seconds, she slowly opened the door and walked out into the bedroom. She glanced at the bed. Oh, but of course he wouldnt be nice and bring her clothes upstairs for her. He was going to make her run through the house naked. Fuming, she stalked down the stairs to the living room in search of her clothes. A quick glance around the room told her they were nowhere in sight. Oh, so he hid them? How juvenile could you get? Her mind wandered back to Carly. Did Jason know Carly had something to do with this? Hmm, maybe that was why he hid her clothes - so he could get to his friend first. It would serve him right if she showed up at Sonny and Carlys wearing nothing but a shower curtain, she thought as she walked over to the window. A look of outrage spread across her face . . . there was no car out there! Great! Just perfect - so she was stuck at the cottage with no transportation and no clothes? A flash of white caught her eye before she went to turn around. Upon closer inspection, she recognized it as one of her socks. What the hell? Without thinking, she rushed outside, keeping the curtain carefully wrapped around her. She knelt down and picked up the sock . . . there were no other items of clothing anywhere near it. Confused, she looked around until her eyes focused on some tire tracks on the dirt driveway . . . only a few feet from where her sock lay. Oh. Her eyes narrowed. So it was like that, was it? Jason had taken her clothes with him. Brenda took a deep breath to calm herself. Well, obviously she was going to have to do something to repay him for that little "kindness". She went back into the cottage. Maybe some brownies laced with arsenic? "Why didnt you answer the phone?" Carly asked, letting out a relieved sigh when it finally quit ringing. "Its your mess. Youre gonna have to clean it up." Carly gaped at him. "Ive got some stuff to take care of at the warehouse." She watched in shock as her husband walked out the front door leaving her to face this alone. Isnt that just like a man, she thought accusingly. Sure, theyd help do the fun stuff but when the shit hit the fan, suddenly they were all innocence. Fine. She could deal with this. She didnt need Sonnys help. Jason was probably on his way to the penthouse now. Shed just talk to him . . . no big deal. This was her best friend. What was she so worried about? Okay, so she drugged him. She put him in a bed with a woman he couldnt stand . . . naked. At least shed kept her eyes closed. Besides, who knows? Maybe Jasons blatant dislike for Brenda was all an act. Yeah, she propped her feet up on the coffee table, she had nothing to worry about. She jumped as the penthouse door flew open. Her eyes met Jasons furious ones . . . On second thought, maybe she had a few errands of her own to run . . . . |
