Crime of the Century

The whole reason the Wrecking Crew was started was because of the hijacking of the Overlord Class DropShip Away In Time, part of a Federated Commonwealth task force over Twycross during September of 3051. Renamed the Crime of the Century by its new owners, it has served as the primary transport and deployment vessel for the Wrecking Crew ever since. Of course with a unit like that in charge, it has been heavily modified to better serve their strategy.

Modifications

By removing the lower 'mech bay many changes were able to be made. In additon to Comstar assitance in reworking the weapons with new technology, a massive simulator system and holotank on par with those in use by the Clans, Comstar and Wolf's Dragoons was added. This allows the warriors of the Wrecking Crew to get practice in - constantly.

In the space made by the removal of the 'mech bays crew quarters were added, as were bunks for several platoons of infantry and vehicle support crews. A dozen small vehicle bays as well as three heavier truck hard-points were added for the recovery and support teams. It was the remainder of the space that proved to be the biggest change of all.

With the prospect of going rogue and fleeing to the Periphery very real, lower level of the ship was changed into a factory. Lifts, gantries and catwalks surround the huge open area that can hold up to six 'mechs at a time. This has proved to be a decisive advantage in several campaigns, and allows Allison Morgan to work on her 'mechs to her hearts delight. While in transit or on the ground this deck hums with activity as the tech teams of Ally's Bandits work on the 'mechs.

To further aid in resupply and repair the individual bays of 'mechs and fighters have been modified with bins that hold the available parts and systems as well as the tools needed to repair the 'mech. Several spare tons of the appropriate armor and structural parts are stored there as well. This has saved room on the second deck cargo hold for over 600 tons of salvage and loot.

Commander Bill Thomas and Chief Engineer Craig Thurmond oversee the other 41 members of this Overlord's crew.
