| At the beginning there was CHAOS. The planets swirled in darkness as well as the Earth. Born from Chaos was Gaia, the Earth herself. The planet was not fully formed when she first appeared, and Gaia breathed life into the void. She then spread her arms and legs to create the rivers, mountains, streams, and plains. As the Earth became more fully formed, Gaia yearned for a mate and child. By making love to herself, she gave birth to Uranus, the sky, her consort and lover. | |||||
