Morgan's Creegan Dedication
OK, it may be a lost cause to have an entire web page dedicated to a character from a show that is no longer in exsistance, but hey, it's a free world!  I need to say that this page is under serious construction, so if it seems a little rough, I apologize.
Creegan as some of you may not know is a chracter from Cleopatra 2525.  They killed him in the last episode broadcast in my area, but I never gave up hope that somehow he survived his execution.  Afterall, how many times did Xena and Gabriel come back from the dead?
Alright, a little bit about the plot.  It seems that the world has been taken over by machines called "Baileys."  Humanity has been driven undergound with no hope of reclaiming the surface.  The one glimmer of faith lies in resistance fighters of a disembodied entity called "Voice."  "Voice" employs super-strong, mega-agile humans to try and reclaim what humanity has lost.  Unfortunately we never get to see if these teams and Voice are successful in their mission.
Now here is where Creegan fits in.  Voice's "flagship" team is comprised of three women who are the Tappert-Raime combination of buff and beautiful.  Hell (Hellen) and Sarge are the tough chicks of the three.  Cleopatra however is placed in the mix to supply the watcher with goofy comedy relief.  Hey, she's a stripper from our time who went in for a boob job, got placed in a chriochamber, and woken up in the year 2525, so I cut her some slack.
Our guy gets introduced in the second episode of the series.  I have to say when he emerged from the mist essence of the fog machine, I stood up and said "Hello, who's this?"  The makeup job was what attracted me first, apparantly this takes three hours to do, yikes!  But the attraction would have ended there if there hadn't been attitude to back it up.  But I'm getting ahead of myself.  Back to the plot line.
We find out as the series progresses that Creegan murdered Hell's parents and is the mortal enemy of Voice.  After all he is a suicidal megalomaniac with delusions of taking over the world.  He does his best to carry out his plans, but is always thwarted in the end by Hell and her companions.  He does manage to turn Hell against Voice for a little bit by convincing her that her father is still alive.  And he's right, they make it to the Bailey factory and there he is, carrying out a covert operation for Voice.  Well, of course Creegan betrays Hell and almost manages to succeed in his plans, but is defeated once agian by the ever annoying good-guy wins motif.  I won't tell you how it happened, the plot is that thin.
OK, and speaking of contrived plot lines, we make it to the execution of our vilafied character.  In this episode Creegan hatches a plan to set two Voice teams against each other.  Unfortunately he uses the wrong version of Hell's name.  You see, he knew her as Hellen before, and has a perpetual habbit of calling her that.  So as he is immpersonates Voice through Hell's receptor, he mistakenly calls her Hellen, and the jig is up.  The battle is on and we think he may win with his impervious shield, but when he reels in Cleopatra, she lasers his shield system and it goes down, allowing for his capture.
While Creegan sits in his cell, he is visited by a "confessor."  A person who can take away the "sins" of convicted criminals before their execution.  At the end of their banter and numerous flashbacks, we find out that Creegan is in fact George Bailey (the joke is not lost), and is the creater of the Baileys who were once meant as environmental clean-up units, but turned rogue and decided to clean up humanity.  Creegan is a "thaw" someone who is five hundred year old, and the reason for the make-up is the extensive chriodamage done to his skin.  He was once a part of Voice's scienctific team, but was expelled.  He has now set the Baileys into one last fight to purge humanity from below the earth.
As the confessor learns this we also learn that the confessor is indeed Voice.  Now viewers can put a face with the "voice."  She tries to persuade him to call off the attack, but he either can't or won't.  In the end he is executed mercilessly by Voice who tells Hell that Creegan told her nothing before he died.  Is this true?  Not really.  Is Voice really a good character?  I'll let you who know the show decide.
Now what would Creegan be without an actor to portray him?  That duty fell to native New Zealander Joel Tobeck.  Joel made his Tappert-Raime premier as Strife in "Hercules."   But he's not just a prety face working in the Xenaverse, he also engages in theatre and music.  In fact he's in several bands:  "The Wide Lapels" with Kevin Smith, and Splitter.  I'll include lots of links so that you can explore the Creegan/Joel universe.  I'm also including a photo gallery of my favorite villain.  Brief update:  My condolences to everyone who knew and loved Kevin Smith, he will be missed.
