| An introduction to the Wiccan Book of Shadows | ||||||||||||||
| From my own Book of Shadows, "Keep a book in your own handwriting. Let brothers and sisters copy what they will, provided that they are of sufficient rank. Never let the book out of your hands for the information contained within is priceless. It is passed on from one generation to another. Master to apprentice, it is necessary to hand down the passwords from mouth to ear. Learn as much as you can by heart, so you can work and study while abroad" (circa 1998).
This quote sums up many of the beliefs that Wiccans have about the Book of Shadows...more about Book of Shadows. |

| How to start your own Wiccan Book of Shadows | ||||||||||||||
| No two Books of Shadows are the same; each one is as individualized as the fingerprints of the person who created it. Originally during the revival of Wicca (actually the invention of a new religion based on old forgotten truths) only the head of a coven was supposed to have a Book of Shadows; this idea proved to be impractical, so individual members started to assemble their own books. At first, these books were copied from the Coven's Book, but with the publication of several Books the modern Wicca can put together a Book of Shadows even if they don't have access to a coven...more about creating a Book of Shadows. | ||||||||||||||
