| Golden Dawn is perhaps the best known and most influential esoteric Order (lodge based system of spiritual attainment) of modern times. The Order's instructions and rituals include symbolism drawn from kabbalah, astrology, and the Tarot; elements are also drawn from Christian and grimoiric traditions. On the surface, Enochian Chess (or Rosicrucian Chess as it was originally called) appears to be just a chess variation involving four players. Yet beneath this surface layer, Enochian Chess is a synthesis of many of the sub-systems that members of Golden Dawn study.
Being the brainchild of William Wynn Westcott (one of the founders of Golden Dawn)...more about Enochian Chess. |
