Berlin was our second stop. This huge city impressed us with its incredible history and palpable liveliness. There is such purpose in the air, yet its easy to find a place to sit and relax, talk to locals whove experienced some of the recent history, and meet other interesting travelers.
The other thing in which Berlin abounds is museums. There is a bewildering array of choices, depending on what one is interested in. Some of the most impressive things we saw included the 3,000+ year old Egyptian mask of Nefertiti and the immense Ishtar Gate from the excavated city of Babylon.
A highly recommended stop for any European tour! |
