A Flower
2002

A flower is a simple thing,
Yet doth tell of the beauty that life can bring.
Not every day is sunny,
Nor forever quite so grim.
Even under shadow,
Doth a flowers colour sing.

Thorn may prick,
And bee may sting,
Yet never doth the future of a flower grow dim,
Because in this flower fading were many still new,
Yet to awaken with the spring morning dew.

Even when life is over,
And the colour in its petals fade,
A flower still blossoms for many a day.
Because in this flower fading were many still new,
Yet to awaken with the spring morning dew.

And so a flower shall live for many a year,
And aid in comfort and times of fear.
For a flower is a simple thing,
That in the darkness, joy can bring.

A/N: A bit of a rarity in nature and tone when it come to my poems, but kind of sweet too, if you follow it.
