Notice from the Texas Animal Health Commission: Some Texans are planning to take equine or other livestock to the Washington, D. C. area for the presidential inauguration festivities. We want everyone involved to be aware of the following: Be certain that you have met all entry requirements for your livestock OR horses, before hauling the animals to the Maryland/Washington, D. C. area. Maryland requires that the Texas Animal Health Commission (TAHC) issue a prior approval for horses being shipped to that state. The health certificate must be stamped by the TAHC's headquarters in Austin PRIOR to movement. For more information regarding entry of livestock, wildlife and horses into Maryland/Washington, D.
