Brawlers, along with Snipers, are the bread and butter of the SeeD organization. There are far more Brawlers and Snipers than there are of any of the more specialized or 'weird' jobs. Brawlers tend to be the most versatile of any class, in that they require little to do their work, and don't rely on elements or status effects that will fail against some enemies. Mostly, they just hurt people. The Brawler corps pride themselves on being the first people Squall calls on when his next instruction will be, "take that hill".
Brawlers focus almost exclusively on Melee combat, and generaly become proficient with just about every weapon out there, though that doesn't prevent them from also mastering a weapon or two, just for fun. Because a single skill drives all the inherant talents of this class, they can become very, very good at what they do, or branch out into a lot of weapons as well. The one real weakness Brawlers have is that they're nearly useless with magic, and they're pretty weak against it as well. Still, most pick a GF or two that will help them with these problems. It's also a trueisim around SeeD that if you want complex maths done, don't go anywhere near the Brawlers.
