Tamers are a strange breed. Originaly part of a monster investigation team, they became tamers after Squall integrated the famed survivalist Jarvis Greydolf into his monster investigation teams. Though Squall was initialy wary of the... erratic behavior Jarvis showed, he could not deny the utility of taming monsters and sending them to battle instead of human beings. Thus, the corps of Tamers was born. Some say they are elite, some say they are crazies, but either way, they know a number of skills with no parallel in any other SeeD corps. Tamers have been an invaluable source of information on monsters, especialy new beasts that came down with the latest Lunar Cry.

Tamers generaly take on a scout role in SeeD, as their abilites allow them to travel on foot with much less chance of being attacked by Lunar monsters. So far they have not revealed the true power of their Transformation techniques to the general populace of SeeD, though it's certain that Squall is aware of this power. Until such a time as their official role is changed, they will remain scouts and explorers, but they have the potential to be shock troops, as the Transformation powers they can gain will let them stand toe to toe with a Samurai. Along with a cadre of tamed monsters for cannon fodder, they could become quite a devestating fighting force, and no doubt a large group of tame monsters would destroy the morale of most national military units.
