Gunblade Specialists are the cream of the Garden crop. Every specialist recives personal training from Squall. Because of this, they all also take leadership classes. After all, if they're going to be mentored by the SeeD commander, they may as well assume a leadership role. That means that to become a Gunblade Specialist, one must not only be capable of learning the most difficult weapon ever concived, but also show some leadership aptitude. All Gunblade Specialists train at Galbadia Garden, and are generaly sent there as soon as they meet the age requirement.

The Gunblade is by far the most destructive melee weapon on the planet. Gunblades have an extremely high damage rating, and score critical hits with ease. Over time, helped by the exploits of Squall and Seifer, Gunblade specialists have come to be feared by warriors across the globe, and with reason.
