Gearheads have "seriously weird" down pat. All Gearheads are trained at the quirky and low discipline Trabia Garden, and they seem to uniformly develop their own eccentric personalities to the limit of what SeeD will tolerate. That's not to say that Gearheads are irresponsible. In general, they are some of the hardest working and most job focused SeeDs out there. There are exceptions to this rule, of course, but Gearheads who show slacker tendancies are shunned by their peers.

Gearheads are responsible for dreaming up, creating, and maintaining all the technological wonders that keep SeeD head and shoulders above every other military force in the world. While they can't boast of increadibly powerful techniques, they have perhaps a bigger variety of useful skills and techniques than any other archetype. The lack of high damage becomes even less of a factor when you consider that nearly all Gearheads learn Artilery, Demolitions, or both.
