The world is out of balance and the elements are in revolt. Four young heroes, each with a darkened orb in their possession, must restore order to this chaotic world. Swords and sorcery will aid them on their quest, on this final fantasy.
Two thousand years ago, the darkened orbs shined with light. Now there is only darkness you are the light warriors and the worlds future lies in your hands. You will journey all across the land, through dark caverns, into the depths of the sea and even amongst the clouds, looking for some way to save the world from the plague that is slowly consuming it
They say that from tiny acorns, great oak trees grow and if thats true then the original Final Fantasy game was a very tiny acorn indeed. Compared to the shiny graphical magic of the latest games, the original Final Fantasy adventure now looks worryingly like Pokmon. Viewed from a simple top-down perspective, and involving lots of scurrying around villages and woods fighting cartoony monsters, its fair to say that Pikachu and its unholy brood owe a considerable dept to Final Fantasys humble beginnings.
Already, many of the standard Final Fantasy plot devices are in place although the complex soap-opera storylines would come in later games. The planet is in turmoil, as cosmetic forces are out of balance thanks to a bunch of mystical orbs. Four plucky young adventures or light warriors set out to the town of Coneria to save the world, and pick up lots of herbs, bits of rope and laves of bread along the way.
Where this original game differs most from the later adventures is in the characters. Fans of the vowel-mangling character names from the more recent games will be disappointed to learn that here your party is simply made up of four fantasy archetypes: Fighter, Ninja, Thief and Mage. Even so, the ability to build up your party and learn new powers is present, albeit in a basic form.
It may look clunky by modern standards, but RPG boffins still hold up the original Final Fantasy game as the classic that set the standard for everything that followed.
the only thing that has stayed the same in all final fantasys is baharmet, even in the orinal
