Nyssa, played by Sarah Sutton.

Sarah Sutton (Nyssa) taken from when she first joined Doctor Who.

Sarah Sutton, taken in 1993.

Nyssa first appeared in The Keeper of Traaken, although she did not become the Doctor's companion until the following story: Logopolis. She remained the Doctor's companion for two series, before finally leaving.

Nyssa was from Traken, a peaceful planet, but was forced to join the Doctor when a decompsing Master took control of her father's body, Tremus, thus killing him. Nyssa always sought for a way to remove the Master from her father's body, but never succeeded in this. Nyssa was a genius at bio-mechanics and chemisty, as well as being good at electronics and physics. She was very loyal to the Doctor, but rather innocent as well.

Nyssa is great. Very atractive, and who can forget Terminus. She does tend to bitch a lot which is annoying, but we can forgive her for that! She added a brain to the Doctor's companion- and she was a far better brain to have than Adric!

Nyssa appeared in: The Keeper of Traken, Logopolis, Castrovalva, Four to Doomsday, Kinda, The Visitation, Black Orchid, Earthshock, Time-Flight, Arc of Infinity, Snakedance, Mawdryn Undead, Terminus and Dimensions in Time.

Sarah Sutton joined Dr Who when she was only 19, having had a succesful actign career from the age of 11! She doesn't do much television anymore, although she did appear in Unnatural Pusuits. Currently she is bringing up a family, whilst maitaining her Dr Who links. I have met Sarah Sutton at the Bluebox 4 convention in Bristol 2001 and she is very nice and very funny (especially when she is with Mark Strickson).
