Sabalom Glitz, played by Tony Selby.
Sabalom Glitz (Tony Selby) from Trial of a Time Lord.
Sabalom Glitz was a rogue, the classic "Del-boy" and "Minder" of Dr Who. Glitz initially had no conscience when it came to making a quick buck. He tried firstly to kill the Doctor because "I can't stand competition" (Glitz) and was generally a thief, his brief employment with the Master serving to comfirm this. However, Glitz evolved. He was still a rogue, but now he had morals and ended up working with the Doctor and being "looked-after" by Mel. A complex, but well-thought out character. The fact that he ended up helping the Doctor in Trial of a Time Lord and Dragonfire, makes him a companion of the Doctor, albeit an independent one.
Glitz is a great charcter. Ok, he was watered-down at the end, but it was always nice to see him and that helps make Dragonfire stand out amongst Season 24 (not hard to do, but Dragonfire was a good story).
Sabalom Glitz appeared in: The Trial of a Time Lord (The Mysterious Planet and The Ultimate Foe), Dragonfire.
Due to a lack of information on Glitz, this being the only Dr Who website that has any information on Glitz, I am unable to find anything out about Tony Selby. Apologies, but I will look out for any information at all.
