TechTonic Plates work on the principle of constrained layer damping. These plates are triple tempered, plate glass, combined with two different constrained layers of damping material. The system is then suspended upon a stable tripod of compliant material.
The combination of stiffness and compliance is specifically tuned to convert mechanical vibration into harmless heat. This conversion of vibration into heat is the same process by which fibrous material is used to damp a loudspeaker cabinet.
Suitable for use on all kinds of components from turntables to DVD players and preamps t power amps.
Placed on top of a component, striking results can be appreciated. Various placement positions will yield different results. Available in an assortment of sizes (two at present). A TechTonic turntable clamp is soon to be released.
