| some history | |||||||
| Moray James Cables had its beginning in 1987. Moray James was then co-inventor of what was to become the Sumo Aria loudspeaker (for a description of the loudspeaker see Audio June 1992) a magnetic drive point source planer speaker. During the later stages of development the loudspeaker quickly surpassed the company's reference sound system's ability to resolve detail. Attempts were made to find commercial cables and interconnects which would bring the sound system up to par with the speaker; but they failed. Moray James then first tried his hand at cable design with some mentoring assisstance from designer and friend David Salz of Wire World. The result was a series of cables and interconnectswhich allowed the loudspeaker project to proceed onward to production. This was the beginning of an ongoing development rather than an evolution of design ideas, which continues to this day. Learning by listeing and building over thousands of hours and numerous systems has lead to the cables offered today. |
