My Sister gave him a cake with candles that don't blow out - but my Dad (after a few times) managed to blow them out. 
As a present we gave him an artistic drawing of the family tree. 
In the evening we went to a ballet of Cinderella at the Opera National De Paris. I sat at the beginning above the orchestra and managed to see the ballet and the orchestra. It was a nice ballet and I enjoyed it, but it was a bit too long for me. It is amazing what they do with there legs.
