Maayan loved going to sleep with us in the tent. Instead of falling asleep - he could jump up and down on us till he really really tired. He specially loved to sit on our face or chest and hit us while laughing. מעיין אהב ללכת לישון איתנו באוהל. במקום להירדם הוא קיפץ עד שנהיה ממש ממש עייף. הוא במיוחד אהב לשבת לנו על הפרצוף או על החזה ולהרביץ לנו. |

The area was full of Rabbits (White-Cottontail and Jack) and we saw them all around. They were cute and it took quite a while till Maayan also managed to see them. האיזור היה מלא בארנבות וראינו אותם כל הזמן בכל האיזורים. למעיין לקח זמן מה עד שהוא גם היה מסוגל לראות אותם ולזהות אותם. |

Mom and Dad went for a walk up the canyon while Maayan stayed with Efrat, but we kept an eye on him through the trees and boulders and saw that he was enjoying himself. אמא ואבא הלכו לטיול במעלה הקניון והשאירו את מעיין עם אפרת. ראינו אותו דרך העצים והבולדרים וראינו שהוא נהנה. |

We parted from Efrat and Eran and continued to hike in Joshua Tree National Park the three of us. Maayan started to explore the desert by himself. Every day we let him go farther by himself. We helped him cross deep ravines. נפרדנו מאפרת וערן והמשכנו לטייל בשמורה. מעיין התחיל לטייל לבד. כל יום נתנו לו ללכת יותר ויותר לבד, אך מדי פעם היינו צריכים לעזור לו לחצות נחלים גדולים. |

These are the famous Joshua Trees (a kind of Yucca cactus) אלו העצים שעל שמם נקראת השמורה. |

Since there were no showers in the desert and it was cold - we found an original way to wash Maayan. We turned the heater on in the car and washed him with Wet-Ones. עקב הקור ומחסור במקלחות במדבר, הדלקנו את החימום באוטו ועשינו למעיין מקלחת מגבונים. |

The temp at night went below zero so we kept ourselves warm near the fire while eating dinner. הטמפ בלילה ירדו מתחת לאפס ולכן התחממנו והתכרבלנו ליד המדורה במהלך ארוחת הערב |
