Taking a kayak course

After half a day in Katmandu, we took a bus to Pokhara.

Kagan and I were contemplating on if to take a kayak course or just go and learn on the river. After a day at the lake (no rapids and no waves) - we were glad to take the course. Before we even got into the practice area, I overturned. Twice!
Our guide, Druba, Tried to teach us how to paddle and tried to teach us how to 'Eskimo Roll' - but it took me a long time to succeed. Kagan managed to roll twice. An 'Eskimo Roll' is when you flip and with using your paddle underwater, you 'push' yourself half out of the water and then with your hips you continue to roll over until you are strait up. Sounds easy, but it is hard.

The next day we joined a rafting trip for two days on the Seti River. We got into the river and discovered that this quite river for a rafting trip - was a hard task on a kayak. After five minutes, Kagan overturned and couldn't Eskimo Roll. I flipped a few minutes later and also couldn't Eskimo Roll. I practices a lot of Eskimo Rolls in the river until I managed to get it right. Kagan, after half a day that he didn't enjoy the kayaking - joined the rafting group.
Kayaking through the waves was great fun, but the rapids were very hard and frightening. In one of the rapids I flipped and tried to do an Eskimo Roll. I didn't give up and tried again and again. On the third time I managed to do an Eskimo Roll, and since then I was sure that there won't be any problems if I flip - I know how to do an Eskimo Roll! (Later I discovered that I was wrong)
At the end of the day we got to a class three rapid. The hardest I did. It was totally enjoyable, and I managed not to flip through all of it. I was proud of my self, since I didn't believe that I will make it without flipping.

We slept the night on a beach and the next morning we continued. The rapids and the waves were very exiting and fun. The scenery (you notice it only on the calm parts) was beautiful.
In the big rapid of the day - I managed to pass it well, but flipped after it in calm water - and couldn't Eskimo Roll.
Kagan left the Raft and joined the Kayak again, but he didn't look as if he enjoyed it too much. He is a rock person, not a water person!
