We got up early in the morning to get to the Addo Elephant park – but we got there when it was still dark (and cold). We ate some early breakfast and waited for the sun to rise. When it did, it shone on the tallest tree in the area in a reddish/yellowish color.

The forest was dense and it didn’t get too much light. This also caused a lot of colorful fungus.

We saw a lot of Vervet monkeys (see more about them in the Kruger page) and spiders . We saw a few of these amazing grass hoppers (if you know its name – please e-mail me ).

By the side of the road we saw some Brown Widow spiders (Latrodectus geometricus). This was exiting since Michal is working on its relative: the White Widow spider (Latrodectus pallidus).
