A week and a half after we got married we left for a month honeymoon in South Africa. We were welcomed in Cape
-Town by Winnie (my great-aunt) who made our landing a soft and pleasant one. We started by visiting the Water Front and seeing seals, cormorants, sea gulls, and crabs. Me at the Water Front |

| The clouds flowing down Table Mountain fascinated us. The clouds were only on the mountain we had very good luck with the weather during our entire honeymoon. |
| The next day Winnie gave us some sandwiches and took us to the beginning of the climb up to Table Mountain. The climb was long, but not too hard (even though Michal was over five months pregnant). |
| We spent the whole day exploring Table Mountain and looking at the amazing views. |
| The views were so amazing that even the Rock Dassies were looking at the views! |
We then went to Boulders to see the penguins (more pics). The Penguins turn their head sidewise to threaten and here I am trying to threaten him back. |
We then started the Garden Route stopping every now and then to do a hike (and have lunch somewhere nice). Our
main purpose was to see whales and we saw them from close up, breeching (jumping up out of the water), sailing (
taking their tails out of the water) and just floating. We saw the Southern Right Whale (Eubalaena australis - some info ). They are called Southern since they are found in the southern hemisphere and right since they were considered the right whale to kill!). We saw a lot of mothers with their less than a month old calves. |

We went on a hike in De Hoop Nature Reserve and saw a lot of birds, our first antelope, beetles and a beached calf
whale. (see more pics). This calf is about a week old!!! Just a puppy. |
| We spent a day at Mossel Bay and went on a whale watching boat trip. We were told that you are not allowed to get closer than 50 meters, but the operators of the boat were law obedient and we were about 5 meters from a whale!!! He was bigger than the boat we were in! |

One our way back we went through Seal Island and saw all the seals playing in the water, going up to the island with
the waves and some bulls fighting. (more pics) |
We had some lovely walks in Knysna, Addo Elephant and the Karoo (semi desert). We saw a lot of flowers and animals - here are the pics To see the pics of the flowers click here |

When we got back to Cape Town we spent a day walking in the Fynbos with Ruth {my (second) cousin} and David. We went for a walk on the hill behind their house with David. In addition to every thing - both of them are ecologists and we had a lot of interesting talks about everything. In the morning it was raining a bit, but we still went with both of them for a walk in Cape Point Nature Reserve to look for some baboons and saw a lot of things (and in the end we also saw the baboons). We then flew to Johannesburg and met up with Charles (my father's cousin), Sheenagh, Katherine and Sean. We went with them to their house in Sabie. We spent a few days with them walking in the area, resting and eating. |
They went back to Johannesburg and left us with the keys for their house and car. We hiked a few days in the area and visited some waterfalls. We then continued to Kruger National Park. |
