| Jan. 2007 - Pola has turned into a big (23"/60lbs), beautiful sibe! She is bomb proof with the kids, allowing them to give and take any object from her, lay on her like a pillow, give kiddy hugs and kisses from any angle, and play nicely. She sleeps well in the house, either in her crate or given free run - she is not destructive inside unless you leave the lid off the trash can, yet will leave food uneatten in her bowl. She can distinguish between her toys and the kids and almost never grabs a toy that isn't hers. She does not guard food or objects and will play fetch for short periods. She follows me everywhere and if I am there to catch her in the act, she will listen to me to Come and Stay (if one of the kids holds the door open for her though, it's a whole different game). She loves to dig in the yard and go for vigerous walks around the neighborhood, although she no longer pulls my arms out of their sockets! She has not tried to go over or under our 5' chain link fence to date. Pola will talk to us in "woo-woo's" and encourage us to romp with her - front paws and head down and rump up in the air, tail wagging. 95% of the time she is calm and easy in the house, thinking she is a lap dog... but the other 5%, when she first sees visitors or just wants us to play ... there go the zoomies! We love her to pieces! I hope that our 2nd Sibe turns out just as nice |
