Photo Key Rings

Materials Required:

o               Photo or Artwork

o               Clear flat glass gem (available off Trademe)

o               Keyring (available at David’s Emporium)

o               ‘D’ link (available at David’s Emporium)

o               Scissors

o               Glue stick

o               Super glue

o               Pen

Instructions:

  1. Take glass gem and position over photo/artwork
  2. Trace around gem
  3. Cut artwork slightly smaller than the line traced (so no edges of the paper will show around the side of the gem)
  4. Using a glue stick apply glue to the flat side of the glass gem
  5. Stick photo/artwork to flat side of glass gem making sure to smooth out any bubbles (using back of finger nail)
  6. Attach keyring to ‘D’ link.
  7. Stick ‘D’ link to back of gem using Super glue.  The glue will take about 15mins to dry so the ‘D’ link may need to be supported (or balanced) to keep it flat.
  8. Allow 24hrs for the glue to dry fully.
  9. If any super glue gets on the front of the gem remove using nail polish remover.

OTHER IDEAS

Any sort or art work can be used – kids pictures, finger prints etc.  These make great presents for Grandparents!  The gems can also be made into fridge magnets.
