| This is the heart of the summer milky way, the two brightest stars in the summer constellation, Cygnus the swan, are in this photograph but are so flushed out by the thousands of other stars, they're hard to make out. The application I used ot composite this photograph, Registar, counted over 32000 stars in this photograph alone! The bright red regions are the North American Nebula and the Gamma Cygnus nebula complex, these are two prominent hydrogen emission nebulas. Telescope: 50mm lens Camera: Olympus OM-1 Guiding: none Film: LE400, three seperate photos of 15, 10 and 5 minutes Composition: The three photographs were weighted and combined in Photoshop, aligned in Registar. Curves and saturation adjusted in PS. Interested in taking a photo like this? Contace me, it's easy. |
