M51 The Whirlpool Galaxy
I took this photo from the driveway of my place on Great Moose Lake, in Hartland Maine.  At the time this photo started, it was -10f out and the wind was howling out of the northwest.  If you look closely, you can see some side to side motion of some of the stars indicative of the scope getting bounced around by the wind.  M51 is a face on spiral galaxy in Canes Venatici right next to the big dipper.  Its companion galaxy, NGC5195 is currently shredding the outer arms of M51, it's been speculated that this type of close interaction between galaxies is what accounts for the lopsided appearance of some galaxies, such as m101.  For more information about this galaxy, click here.
