M101 The Pinwheel Galaxy
I took this photo from the driveway of my place on Great Moose Lake, in Hartland Maine.  At the time this photo started, it was -10f out and the wind was howling out of the northwest.  If you look closely, you can see some side to side motion of some of the stars indicative of the scope getting bounced around by the wind.  M101 is located in the constellation Ursa Major, the big bear.  However, the Big Dipper asterism is a much more familiar sight to us.  The Pinwheel Galaxy is about 24 million light years from Earth and is extremely dim and difficult to view even with a high powered telescope.  I've seen it before, but only able to make out the central portion of the galaxy, my eye could not resolve anything outside of that.  For more information about this galaxy, click here.
