Frontage on Great Moose Lake
This home has 125' of frontage on Great Moose Lake's Northeast cove.  The frontage is mostly rocky where the water meets the shore with a swath of sandy shoreline to access the water.  This is where the dock is located.  Some outdoor furniture, such as a hammock, picnic table, and adirondack chairs and such, will be provided.
The views of Northeast Cove are panoramic from the shoreline.  Looking north, you can see the furthest reaches of the cove.  Looking to the south, you will see a two mile stretch of open water, and a short boat ride around the peninsula will place you in Great Moose Lake's open water basin stretching approximately 7 miles.
This home has a fantastic swimming area suitable for both young and old.  The end of the dock is about 5-6 feet of water making it an excellent diving platform. The photo below was taken in April, right after the ice out but before the dock was put in, the new dock (as of Apr '06) will be a floating dock off to the left.  This photo gives you an idea as to the clarity of the water and the substrate underfoot.

No Water quality issues here... Unfortunately, for those of you who have vacationed in central Maine over the years, you know that several popular lakes have suffered water quality issues resulting in algae blooms (china lake, east pond, etc...) and/or invasive plant species such as variable leaf milfoil (Messalonskee, Pickeral pond, etc...).  No such issues here on Great Moose Lake. Please find more information on the lake by clicking here.
