29/04/01  2000/01 Y.E.F.L CUP FINAL
         MOORGREEN COLTS       2  v 0       KEYWORTH GREEN

A goal in either half took the YEL Cup north, Eastwood way. With both touchlines crowded the teams did not disappoint. Moorgreen showed the style and flair which has won them many plaudits as the season has progressed and they took the lead on 16 when an inviting corner has headed home firmly from close range. More of an unknown quantity, despite disposing of Priory Eagles in the semi, Keyworth played some of their best football towards half time, bringing out a couple of good saves from the Moorgreen keeper. Although Moorgreen were pushing for a second for most of the second half, their clearer cut chances usually followed quick forays into the Keyworth half. However, until the second was put home Keyworth always looked capable of recovering their loses. As they pushed forward to close the gap, so Moorgreen countered to ever greater effect, a fine two man passing move finishing with a top draw save from the Keyworth keeper. A deserved win for arguably the better team on the day in a fixture played by two sporting sides who were a credit to their managers.
