If some of the military people stay in for 20 years and get out as an E-7, you may receive a pension of $1,000 per month, and the very people who placed you in harm's way receive a pension of $15,000 per month. I would like to see our elected officials pick up a weapon and join the ranks before they start cutting out benefits and lowering pay for our sons, daughters, and friends who are now fighting. Now we are adding insult to injury by shutting down VA hospitals to save money for the government. The average wait time on a VA claim is 18 months now, shall we make Vets wait even longer for what they deserve? Let's cut spending in Congress instead!!!
Myself I was in the Army for 12 years. I became disabled and was retired in 2000 by the DOD. I receive $400 a month, all base privilages, and Medical HMO which I must pay for to keep. Hell of a thing to do to a Soldier that was hurt in Combat.
As an American, We have the right to wave our flag, sing our national anthem, quote our national motto and cite the pledge whenever and wherever we choose.
If the Stars and Stripes offend you, or you don't like Uncle Sam, then you should seriously consider a move to another part of this planet. The American culture is our way of life, our heritage, and we are proud of it. We are happy with our culture and have no desire to change. We are Americans, like it or not, this is our country, our land, and our lifestyle.
The next time you spend a day enjoying one of these Holiday's remember a Soldier and write your Congressman or Congresswoman and show your support for the ones that give there lives to keep yours free. Let's get our Soldiers out of the low income bracket.
