GROWTH HABITS Monopodial epiphyte
ORIGIN Costa Rica and Panama in wet highland forest
BLOOMING SEASON Spring and summer
LIGHT Low 1400 to 2000 fc
TEMPERATURE Intermediate: day 19 degrees to 23 degrees C (66 degrees to 75 degrees F) night 14 degrees  to 18 degrees C (58 degrees to 64 degrees F) and winter lows of 10 degrees to 12 degrees C (50 degrees to 54 degrees F)
HUMIDITY Will grow at 40% to 50% humidity levels but will grow better at levels around 80%
WATER Keep constantly moist all year around.
GROWING MEDIA A moisture retaining mix such as 6 parts seedling bark, 1 part course perlite, 1 part charcoal and 1 part peat moss.
FERTILIZER Feed weak weekly (1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon fertilizer per gallon water) of a blossom booster mix in late winter and spring and a growth mixture during the summer and early fall.
POTS Plastic pots are best.
NOTES The plant can be purchased from Oak Hill Gardens.  There is only one flower to a inflorescence but the flower is large for the plant.
