GROWTH HABITS Monopodial epiphyte
ORIGIN Borneo
BLOOMING SEASON Spring and summer
LIGHT Around 1800 to 2500 fc
TEMPERATURE Hot, winter lows 24 degrees C (75 degrees F) and summer highs 35 degrees C (95 degrees F) with a 10 - 15 degree change between day - night temperatures.
HUMIDITY Will grow at 50% to 60% humidity but will do much better at 80% to 90%.
WATER Keep damp year round
GROWING MEDIA Use a potting mix that retains moisture well such as the following, 6 parts seedling bark, 1 part perlite, 1 part charcoal and 1 part chopped sphagnum moss or coarse peat.
FERTILIZER Feed weak weekly (1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon per gallon water) a balanced fertilizer such as a 20-20-20 mix.
POTS Plastic pots are best for this plant because of its moisture requirements or mounted with a bit of moisture holding material under the roots.
NOTES This is a small plant with 1 inch fragrant flowers. Plants are available from Countryside Orchids or Oakhill Gardens.
