GROWTH HABITS Sympodial epiphyte
ORIGIN Luzon  Philippines
BLOOMING SEASON Usually September and October
LIGHT Moderate 1800 to 2500 fc
TEMPERATURE Winter night 12 degrees to 15 degrees C (54 degrees to 59 degrees F) with winter day temperatures 15 degrees to 20 degrees F warmer.  Summer night 21 degrees to 24 degrees C (70 degrees to 80 degrees F) with summer day temperatures 10 degrees to 15 degrees F warmer.
HUMIDITY 60 to 75% with good air movement.
WATER Keep plant moist at all times.
GROWING MEDIA Any moisture retaining growing media such as 6 parts seedling bark 1 part perlite and 1 part charcoal.
FERTILIZER Use a good non-urea based fertilizer.   Feed plants a weak solution (1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon per gallon water) at each watering.  Do not forget to flush pots with plain water every month or two.
POTS Grow in shallow pots such as bulb pans.
NOTES Plants show a great display if allowed to get large. The flowers are small but in great numbers on each inflorescence. Plants are available from Santa Barbara Orchid Estate for $17.50. They also carry other Dendrochilum species, which have seemlier growth requirements.
